Halloween 09

Okay, I think we are turning into duds and I mean DUDS in a BIG way! Chance was in Missoula Montana for the weekend. Aleah had a friend over but they chose not to dress up. Eric was just enjoying a weekend at home and I had a job in Jackson that took much longer than I would have liked. On top of that, Joyah and I were both under the weather. We were laughing because last year at this time we were cleaning our old house and moving into our new one. Next year we are making a pledge to do better! We will dress up, we will party and we will show Joyah that we aren't all just old Fuddy Duddy's! I did sew a little tutu for Joyah and managed to get her into the thing. She was so under the weather and just not in the mood. We tried forever to get a smile out of her but no such luck. So here she is in all her glory... one of those photos she's gonna love when she's older.

Fun With Friends

One of the hardest things about moving to a new place is leaving your old friends. This seems to be harder as we get older. Its been fun to watch Aleah make some great new friends. This past weekend she had her friend Adrianne over, they spent the afternoon outside taking photos.... Here are a few of her favorite.

Aleah's GREAT Choir Concert

Aleah has been very busy this fall. She has been taking dance classes, is on the yearbook staff, was able to participate in a regional honors choir clinic in Evanston WY. and has been serving as Beehive pres. in her Church. We were able to go watch her perform a few songs with her Middle School Choir class. She did a wonderful job and even had a duet part! We love listening to Aleah sing. She has such a great voice. Its been so much fun watching our Aleah develop into such a beautiful and sweet young lady. We love you Aleah

An afternoon with Joyah

This October has been an interesting one, we have had major snow storms and beautiful sunshine. One extreme to the next for sure. We still have not had snow that has lasted for more than a few days on the valley floor. While Chance and Aleah were away Eric and I were able to spend some special time with our Joyah. On Sunday afternoon, we took her over to McCoy Creek. The water is quite low. The bridge that we have jumped off so many times just sits above a bunch of mud. Joyah had fun wondering around and splashing her feet in the cold water. I just cant say enough about how blessed we feel to be able to live in such a beautiful place. We can walk out our front door and drive for just a few minutes and land in a tranquil and peaceful place like this. The beauty and the company made for a wonderful day.

Eric and I love this picture! The sunshine is shining RIGHT down on Joyah, like heaven is kissing our little angel!

Chance and Aleah in Denver

This is a GREAT post! Chance has wanted to go to the Broadway play WICKED forever. He has the music memorized and has read the book (ewwwww). When WICKED came to Utah, he was so excited thinking that the time had finally come. Well... He had a leading roll in his school play at the same time so had to miss out again. So when summer came, he started stashing away money for a planned trip to Denver. When he had the dough, he got on line, booked his flight, booked his hotel, bought his wicked tickets, and also made some great dinner reservations at a super "posh" restaurant, got zoo tickets and just planned a all around awesome trip. Okay that being said here is the SUPPERCALAFRAGALISTICEXPIALADOSHIOUS part..... the whole time he was planning this trip he had a little secret....... He was planning it for himself AND for Aleah! He had bought her tickets for the trip as well! Well, the week came for the trip and Aleah STILL had NO idea! She was SOOO jealous of Chance and told him on several occasions just that! We had to get Aleah packed for the trip and she had to get homework etc. for her missing school days so we had to make up a little fib.... We told Aleah that when we took Chance down to Salt Lake City for his flight out, she was going to stay in SLC and babysit for her Aunt Lynndee. Aleah was excited about this and made her plans to go. We woke up at 3:30 in the morning and got ready for our drive to SLC. When we got to SLC we took Chance to the airport. We pulled into the parking terminal and parked. Before we got out of the car Chance turned around to Aleah and said "Aleah, I have something for you before I go" He takes a WICKED ticket with HER name on it out and hands it to her! Aleah looks at it and gets all excited she doesn't know what to say... We say "Aleah what does this mean?" Aleah gets all excited and says "I'm going to WICKED!" We said "Yeah! So what does that mean?" She says "I'm flying to Denver!" We said "YEAH!" She says "THANK YOU CHANCE!" So Chance and Aleah get out of the car, take their bags and into the airport we go! They flew out about a hour later! They stayed in Denver for 3 nights and had a wonderful time! Just our two grownup kids all by themselves! They had a fabulous time and made tons of memories. They loved WICKED and all of the other adventures! Chance, you are a AMAZING brother and Aleah is so blessed to have you for hers!
(I told the kids "Take LOTS of pictures" but they were just to busy having fun so this is what we get, which is all good.) The kids in front of the theatre and at the Denver Zoo.
