I came across this quote this morning. It's funny how "things" are placed in your path for you to happen upon or discover just when you need them.

I grew up in a home where we were taught to look for the good. I am so grateful for that tool in my life. And yes, I believe it is a tool, a extremely valuable one!

I think our lives, our circumstances and much of our daily outcomes derive from our own thoughts. We can think good or we can think bad. We can find the sunshine in each day or we can find rain. We can find the good in others or we can find what is wrong in them.

Though I was taught by amazing parents and examples in my life to use the tool of positive thinking, I must confess, I have not achieved my graduation certificate from the course!

Sometimes it appears that life, well... sucks! Sometimes you feel like you are weighed down with trials, unfairly judged, haven't received your "gold star" for all the amazingly spectacular things you have done... sometimes you feel like you are surrounded by small minded meanies whose to do list each morning consist of one thing... To find the rotten in you and make you cry!

Well... Today I am going to take a deep breath, utter a few prayers and do my very best to react to adversity with love, with forgiveness and with a Eternal Perspective. Our trials are but a moment, what we do with those trials, how we handle them, can form our character, can make us better people and more like our Brother Jesus Christ.

I will try to remember that those who appear to be sifting through your life, searching for flaws or ways to be offended are often the ones who are hurting the deepest. Who need our love the most.

I vow to love deeper, to LOOK for the good in others, to shrug off offences. To be more kind...

And you know what.... that may change others perspective of me from "She's a small minded meanie" to "I like her, she helped me feel good about my life today"
